Poem -

perhaps this poem needs
a sweet and sultry voice
to deliver its message
with adequate feeling
maybe you would catch
the meaning of the words
if you heard me
purring them softly in your ear
it may be easy
to overlook the intention of the syllables
on the stark white paper
so listen to the words
as I would speak them
to you,
about you,
for
you
hear them
with all of the desire
and lust
and longing
and love
that my vocal chords can express
that
is the way
my poems are written
and that
is the way I want
you
to understand them



At 45, I knew the body I used to have, the body I wanted, and the body I thought I had. But I could not see the reality of my shape, my sensuality, or my beauty. My exploration resulted in self portraits that take you to a moment at the beginning of a story and offer an opportunity to expand.
