Green Mountain Moments
Green Mountain Moments, 2023, 30”x40”
I feel the pull of the water and green mountains, that sense of peace every time I drove into Vermont. The feeling of being embraced by nature, slowing to the pace of the waves on the lake, soothed by the age of the mountains.
To me, this is not a landscape but an immersion into that feeling of peace, of connection to life and living, of simple, quiet, restful, breaths.
I find my eyes dancing around the subtle shifts in color, comparing one to another, judging the values, noticing the brushstrokes within each color which bring textures to an otherwise solid mass.
On my easel, the lighter colors stayed mostly at the top, though I turned it occasionally for better access. When I brought it home to hang on my contemplation wall, the shift in orientation revealed its magic.
