Honoring the Beginner’s Mind

There is so much power in daring to be a beginner. In trying something completely different. In allowing yourself to do it badly.
And then to try again.

This piece came from that space. A place of yes, of play, of listening more than planning. There was no good reason for me to take a whimsical painting class. There was no pressure to perform. Just permission to explore.

They each appeared slowly—one color, one line at a time. Bold. Playful. Slightly off-center in the most beautiful way. They don’t ask to be understood. They don’t ask to become my new direction or latest collection. They ask to be seen, to be tried on, to be a part of my discovery. I drew the image 3 times before I began and painted it twice just to see what would be different the second time around.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is return to the beginning. Not as failure. Not as regression. But as a sacred homecoming to curiosity, courage, and the joy of not knowing. The joy of discovering.

Let this be a reminder:
Starting again is not weakness—it’s alchemy.
