Living on the Coast
Living on the Coast, 2023, 16”x16”
Standing here with my feet in sand, the waves against my legs, I can see myself just staying forever in this place. There are places where summer stays the entire year round and the water stays warm enough for toes to dance in.
Yet those warm waters feel best when my feet have been cold for weeks, when it heats me through to my bones. The shift from cold to warm is so delightful that I have come to prefer visiting the coast and I have let go of dreaming of living there.
